Born in Limoeiro do Norte in northeastern Brazil, Pipoquinha began performing professionally at the age of 11 and has shared the stage with some of Brazil’s greatest artists, including Djavan, Gilberto Gil, Hamilton de Holanda, Ivan Lins, Elba Ramalho, and Chico César. His virtuosic command of the bass, expressive style, and musical sensitivity have earned him international acclaim and a devoted following.
Following the album release, Pipoquinha celebrates his 30th birthday with a special tour this April, bringing to the stage a seamless fusion of jazz, Música Popular Brasileira (MPB), pop, and African rhythms. For the first time, audiences will hear him as both bassist and vocalist, sharing intimate, original compositions alongside breathtaking instrumental virtuosity.
Expect a performance full of rhythm, melody, and emotion from one of Brazil’s most exciting contemporary artists.
